To tweet or not to tweet, that is the question. This was my question through out my twitter assignment, as well as what to re-tweet. I am still getting used to using Tweeter, I created my account at the beginning of the semester because I never found interest in creating an account. For the tweeter assignment, which was to obtain as much followers possible before the deadline, I proceeded to go with the flow and use current news to obtain new followers. I re-tweeted stories that I thought would interest my current followers, and from there other #tweeters would follow me.
            My first strategy was to use re-tweet posts from the #2016election. One of my favorite tweeters is Univision,  they continuously tweet about the election as well as how the candidates are causing controversy around the world. I also found interest in Yahoo news, I figured that by using  both of these I had a higher chance of gaining followers. My other stradegy was using the popularity of sports, to gain followers. For example I re-tweeted about my favorite football team the Arizona Cardinalds #beredseered,as well as commented on some of their tweets.  I was not very successful with them, perhaps because there are too many tweeters following the team.
          Entertainment was were I gained most of my followers, I began by following a few music artists and commenting on some of their tweets. Some of the new followers are new music artists trying to gain popularity, and have their music be heard in other places. My son is a big fan of this group called #suicideboys, we will be attending one of their concerts this month. My son tweeted about how excited he was to see them, I re-tweeted his post mentioning them, and the next day they were following us.  I also tried other tweets like subjects women would be interested in, or funny posts but I was not successful with those I did not gain any followers. I also tried to re-tweet and follow people from people I already follow, but I was also unsuccessful there.
           One of the reasons why I was not successful with this assignment was because I have not captured the concept of Twitter. I believe that it will take me time to learn how to use Twitter, and perhaps then I will obtain more followers. Perhaps in order to obtain more followers I should find interest in other different topics found on twitter, as well continue to tweet and stay active. I am a social media junkie,but I do not find interest in having people I do not know follow me, or strangers re-tweet my tweets. Maybe that is why I have not found interest in Twitter, I am more of the Facebook junkie because at least all my followers are close friends and family.
